How Our Puppy Process Works: From Inquiry to Go-Home Day
Getting a puppy should feel exciting, not confusing. Here's exactly how it works at Dainty Doodles, from the first time you reach out to the day your puppy comes home.

Step 1: Look at upcoming litters
Start on our upcoming litters and waitlist page. Each litter shows the mom and dad, the expected adult size, expected colors, and when puppies are due and ready to go home. You can also meet our moms and dads to learn about each parent's personality and health records.
Step 2: Send an inquiry
When you find a pairing you love, send us an inquiry. Tell us about your home, your family, your schedule and what you're hoping for in a dog. This helps us make a good match.
Step 3: Reserve your spot
Reservations start with a $500 reservation fee, which holds your place on that litter's waitlist. The full details, including what's included and our policies, are on our prices and policies page.
Step 4: Puppies are born and grow up in our home
Once the litter arrives, we share photos and updates. Puppies are raised inside our home and get:
- Early Neurological Stimulation in the first weeks
- Daily handling and socialization with kids, sounds and new experiences
- Early potty and crate training
- Temperament testing
Step 5: Matching
Using temperament testing and what we know about your family, we help match each family with the puppy that fits them best. A calm puppy for a quiet home, a confident one for an active family, and so on.
Step 6: Go-home day
You'll pick up your puppy in person. We'll go over their food, routine and care, and the final balance is due at pickup. Bring a crate or a helper, a towel and water for the ride home.
Step 7: Lifetime support
Our job doesn't end at pickup. You can reach out any time with questions about training, health or anything else, for the life of your dog.
Quick answers
How early should I get on a waitlist?
As early as you can. Many of our puppies are reserved before they're born, so joining a waitlist early gives you the best chance at the litter you want.
Can I choose my puppy?
We use temperament testing and what we know about your family to help match you with the right puppy. We'll talk through it with you.
What's included with a puppy?
Every puppy comes with early potty, kennel and basic training and lifetime support. See our prices and policies page for the full list.
Ready to meet your puppy?
Tell us a little about your family and what you're hoping for. Lauren reads every note herself. Send an inquiry or see the waitlists.
Families we help
We also welcome families from Sacramento, Roseville and Rocklin, Auburn and Placer County, Folsom and El Dorado Hills, the Bay Area.
